The Social Sciences Dean’s cup football tournament for this session which is taking a league format among the four departments in the faculty of the Social Sciences kicked off today, 10th of December,2024 at Independence Hall football field, University of Ibadan.
Today’s fixtures was among the departmental female teams in the faculty. In accordance with the match fixtures, the political science female team competed against Psychology department female team.
The match kicked off at 3:05pm, with both teams kicking the ball in search for a goal. The match lasted for an hour, with the two departments battling it out for supremacy. Ultimately, the match ended in a 1-1 draw, with both teams unable to clinch a win.
The second match which should have been between the female teams of the department of Geography and the department of Sociology didn’t take place as the department of Geography female team did not register for the tournament.
The next fixture will have the department of Political science competing against the department of sociology while the department of Psychology are slated to compete against the department of Geography. However, the match between Psychology and Geography would not hold due to Geography failure to register for the tournament.
Both matches will take place on the 16th of December, 2024.
