The Senate House of the National Association of Political Science Students (NAPSS), University of Ibadan, has recalled Senator Faith Lakanmi of the 200 Level Constituency.
The recall, announced on October 28, 2026, through a memo released by the House, takes immediate effect.
According to the Senate, the decision followed a resolution passed at its recent sitting, in line with the Association’s constitution.
However, the memo did not state her offence. A POSSPRESS correspondent reached out to Senator Oke, one of the senators representing the 200 Level Constituency, about the recall.
Sen. Oke said the action was based on Article 16, Section 2, page 26 of the NAPSS constitution, which states:
“A senator who is absent for three consecutive sittings shall be deemed to have forfeited his/her seat, except otherwise decided by the whole membership of the House.”
The senator said Sen. Lakanmi missed three consecutive sittings without giving any prior reason for her absence, thereby failing to fulfil her constitutional duties.
The Senate thanked NAPSSites for their support as it works towards the growth and proper administration of the Association.
As of the time of this report, no official response from the recalled senator had been made public.
