Manchester  City Crisis Deepens: Spurs Defeat Extends Losing Streak to Five

The game of football is unique, isn’t it? Manchester City Football Club rise from a struggling team to one of the best teams in the world after a change of ownership to the Arab family is a unique story to tell or argue from the touchline. According to experts, City’s rise can be traced to the appointment of Roberto Mancini as the club’s manager in 2009. Under the management of Macini, City lifted their third English premier league title in the 2011/2012 season.

A new era for the 2023 Champions League winner was ushered in with the appointment of Pep Guardiola at the start of the 2016/17 Season. Guadiola’s story with City so far is laden with success. He has won 18 major trophies, including six Premier League titles and one UEFA Champions League. By winning the Premier League title last season, City became the first men’s team in the history of English football to win four top-flight titles in a row. Including six Premier League tittles.

However, the past few weeks have been a nightmare for the team, losing 5 games consecutively. It was a joyous moment for a lot of football lovers in the University of Ibadan yesterday after City suffered another defeat against Tottenham with a 0:4 scoreline.

Going through reactions and banters after City’s defeat, Adebare, a staunch Guardiola fan took to his status to express his opinion and support for Guardiola by writing, “Successful people always have many enemies. Also, Timilehin, an Arsenal fan was quoted to have said “ City loss gives me so much joy and I can’t wait to watch them lose their next fixture.
