SEALS CUP: Group G; Political Science Qualifies to the Round of Sixteen Knock-Out stage.

The SEALS CUP is the prestigious football competition in the University of Ibadan comprises of 32 departments of various Faculties such as Science, Education, Arts, Law, Basic Medical Sciences,The Social Sciences etc. The Seal’s Cup which started on Friday, 29th September after the much online campaign, discussions on the lips of football lovers; singing its praise and the mix of emotions that comes with it. 

The opening ceremony match between the departments of Geography and Petroleum Engineering was nothing short of the satisfying fulfilments you experience after you have patiently but eagerly waited for your favourite delicacy. 

The department of Political Science football team was drafted into the Group G having the departments of Forestry, Veterinary Medicine and Electrical and Electronics Engineering teams as its opponents. The Poliical Science Student football team’s first match was against Electrical Engineering and was a landslide victory with a one goal win scored by Maicon.

The second match against the Amateur Veterinarians who could only treat animals earned the team another one goal win, making the team progressing to the knock-out stage with 6 points. 

The Forestry team placed the Political Science team at the back side of the wilderness with a one goal defeat, insisting that what goes around comes around. With this outcome, the Political Science football team proceeds to the next round ranking second from group G and Forestry as the first of the Group.

Forestry Department top the team with 7 points and Political Science with 6 points.
