The Political Science football team snatched a dramatic 1–0 victory over Biochemistry in their Seals Cup opener, courtesy of a last-minute own goal.
After a goalless and tightly contested encounter, the deadlock was finally broken in the 90th minute when a frantic scramble in the box saw a Biochemistry defender turn the ball into his own net under pressure from the POS attack.
POS had dominated large spells of the game, creating multiple chances and keeping Biochemistry on the back foot. They thought they had taken the lead earlier in the second half, but a well-taken goal was ruled out for offside.
With this result, POS get off to a winning start and will now turn their focus to their next clash against Food Technology.
