In an electrifying final played at Awo Stadium on Saturday, December 14, Political Science completed a dramatic comeback to defeat MBBS and lift the Super Cup trophy. Gold medals seemed to have eluded POS for a long time, it was a good time as any to finally get one.

The game began with MBBS asserting their dominance, as they took an early lead in the first half. Their defensive organization kept POS struggling to break through. Despite their relentless efforts, POS could not find a way past MBBS’s experienced backline.

The turning point came late in the second half, as POS’s talismanic player, Pogba, produced a moment of brilliance to equalize, forcing the match into penalties.

In the penalty shootout, POS goalkeeper Olami became the hero of the night. With nerves of steel, he saved two out of the three penalties he faced, giving POS the upper hand. The Political Science penalty takers held their composure to seal a historic victory.

The celebrations were euphoric as the final whistle blew, with POS players and fans erupting in jubilation. The long-awaited gold medal felt like a culmination of years of hard work, perseverance, and near-misses. For a department that had come so close on multiple occasions, this triumph was more than just a win—it was redemption.

Furthermore, Olami’s outstanding performance earned him double individual accolades—MVP of the Tournament and Best Goalkeeper.
