The NLC is striking to protest the federal government’s failure to address the challenges caused by the removal of the fuel subsidy. The strike is expected to affect businesses and transportation across the country.
The decision of the University of Ibadan’s Department of Political Science to join the strike or not will have a significant impact on the department’s operations. If the lecturers do not join the strike, classes will be held as usual. However, if the lecturers do join the strike, classes will be canceled and students will be asked to stay home.
The ASUU meeting later today is expected to be a crucial one for the lecturers of the University of Ibadan. The outcome of the meeting will likely determine whether the lecturers join the NLC strike or not.
The faculty president, Mr Dasaolu Olumide, has also said that all facilities within the faculty will be closed until further notice.
In the meantime, students of the department are advised to stay updated on the situation and to follow the instructions of their lecturers.
