FACULTY OF THE SOCIAL SCIENCES SETS TO HOLD FRESHERS ORIENTATION/ DEAN’S  ROLL OF HONOUR

In keeping with tradition, the Faculty of Social Sciences has announced that this year’s Freshers’ Orientation and Dean’s Roll of Honour ceremony will take place on July 17th at 10am in the Large Lecture Theatre (LLT). The event aims to recognize the academic achievements of students, while also extending a warm welcome to newly admitted students. 

The Dean’s roll of honour is an event to recognize and celebrate students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance by being on a first Class . The first class grade range in the university of Ibadan is a CGPA between 3:5 to 4.0.

During the ceremony, students who have achieved outstanding academic excellence will be recognized and honoured. Specifically, first-class students from the 200, 300, and 400 levels across the four departments within the Faculty of Social Sciences will receive recognition. Notably, each  student will receive a certificate of achievement, signed by the Dean of the Faculty.

The Freshers Orientation program is  organized to formally welcome newly admitted students into the Faculty. During the orientation, Lectures from the faculty will deliver addresses and speeches to the incoming students. The program aims to provide a warm introduction to the Faculty, while also instilling a sense of purpose in the  new students as they start their academic journey.
