In the early hours of Wednesday, 14th of May 2025, faculty of the social sciences held an orientation for the freshers, including recognition of outstanding students within the faculty.
The program aimed at welcoming new students to the faculty, educating, as well as inspiring them on the possibilities of achieving academic excellence.
The program began with recitation of the Nigerian national anthem, then the university of Ibadan anthem. Full informative sessions, the event provided information needed to the Freshmen in navigating their stay in the school.Explanations were made on how to calculate CGPA using the new grade system.
Issues such as gender equality, sexual harassment, gender equity, etc were discussed including the school’s stance on such issues, penalties for defaulters. Students were also advised not to make themselves prone to harassment.
Certificate of honour was awarded to the outstanding students across the departments in the faculty. Certificate of honour was presented to the contributors and volunteers of the faculty’s initiatives. presentation of the faculty and school’s code of conduct was givento the students. Through this program,the faculty aim to motivate the students to be determined in their academic pursuits, personal development and also to the other aspects of the university for a brighter and a secure future.
