Today, 21st of December, 2024, the Faculty of the Social Sciences held its Cultural Day as the final event for the faculty week. Themed “The Echoes of Tradition”, the event took place at the car park of the Faculty at the University of Ibadan. The event was hosted by the Faculty’s Students Association (FATSSSA) for all the students in various departments within the Faculty to celebrate the beauty of culture and heritage.
The cultural night began in the evening with students in regal native attires arriving at the Faculty Car Park where the event was set to be held.
The Master of Ceremony coordinated the event and before long, the celebratory spirit in the audience was ignited.
Afterwards, the DJ captured the audience’s attention as various genres of music blasted through the speakers. The Fuji Session particularly enhanced the audience’s mood as they moved their body to the rhythm of cultural music.
Later in the night, the MC took to the stage to announce that it was time for refreshments and urged the crowd to take a break from dancing and fuel their stomachs for the party was about to get lit.
Another round of dancing began and trending hip-hop songs were shuffled, the audience rose from their seats, moved forward and vibed to the lyrics of the songs.
An hour later, as the dance session went on, each level was invited forward to dance.
The cultural night drew the curtains on the Faculty week which commenced on the 16th of December,2024.
