Interview With Mr Adeoti Adebare Mubarak Aspirant For the Office of the President

POSSPRESS : Good evening, I’m Ojo Victoria Ayoolajesu from POSS Press. I have a couple of questions to ask you.

Mr. Adebare: Good evening. Proceed.

POSSPRESS: You’re vying for the post of NAPSS’ President, what inspired you to take this step?

Mr. Adebare: The decision to run for the post of NAPSS PRESIDENT emanated out of my passion to make a difference as well contributing my own quota to the Development of the association. I have been doing that before, I will also continue if given the opportunity to serve.

POSSPRESS: On a scale of 1 to 10, how competent do you think you are?

Mr. Adebare: This is a subjective statement. I am fully capable of making significant difference.

POSSPRESS: What are the experiences you’ve gathered that gives you this assurance?

Mr. Adebare: Served in the Department level, Hall of Residence level and Student Union level.

POSSPRESS: Successfully? What were your portfolios in these places?

Mr. Adebare: Yes. Chairman NAPSS house of Senate Committee on Audit. Chairman House committee on academic UI SRC 11th assembly. Chairman Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall Leadership Development Committee. I have a perfect track records and antecedents on this.

POSSPRESS: What did you do differently or what were some of your achievements? Were they in line with your manifesto?

Mr. Adebare: It doesn’t matter it’s line, what matters most is changing narrative and bring about transformation.

POSSPRESS: Okay, so what transformations did you bring?

Mr. Adebare: Ushering a new era of good administration.

POSSPRESS: This response is quite vague.

Mr. Adebare: Vague as how. Do you expect me to work in office without having a reputable achievement or having something to point out to. Besides, I can’t build a castle on the air just trying to impress PRESS.

POSSPRESS: You said, “an era of good administration”, my point is that it is not tangible. Is there anything we can point to that your administration did? Just one significant difference. 

Mr. Adebare: In my regime as the member of the Senate, I sponsored Bill for the establishment of the NAPSS RESEARCH CLUB which is still in Assent stage to be passed by the HOD. You can fact check. In capacity as the Zik Hall Leadership Development Committee, I also organized leadership summit. I have all these with factual evidence.

POSSPRESS: This has nothing to do with impressing the press.

Mr. Adebare: This is still an unclear question from your end.

POSSPRESS: My questions are not aimed at making the press endorse or disapprove you, only to gather enough facts for NAPPSSITES to get to know who the aspirants are. Are you clear now?

Mr. Adebare: But when interrogating an aspirants there are ways of using a courtesy approach not using double Barrel Questions. Alright

POSSPRESS: Moving on, what do you think are the key roles of the president?

Mr. Adebare: They’re stated in the chapter 3, Article 9, section 1 of the constitution. They are nine in numbers. Being the one to chair the Congress. Signatory to the account. And many more…

POSSPRESS: What’s your preferred leadership style?

Mr. Adebare: Collective arrangements and efforts to achieve goals coupled with good human resources mangement style.

POSSPRESS: Every office and every agenda will face one or more challenges, what key qualities do you possess that can help you manage any form of challenge?

Mr. Adebare: Facing challenges is about your Level of emotional investment. That’s totally certain. Challenges are inevitable.

POSSPRESS: How do you plan to manage them?

Mr. Adebare: It’s about solid preparation and and working concertedly with my team

POSSPRESS: I’m not sure you understand me. There’ll be conflicts of interest even among your team members, different opinions on how to achieve the same goal, so what key qualities do you possess that’ll guide your decision making process?

Mr. Adebare: It’s simple, at the start of our administration hopefully, we are going to work with accelerated road maps to achieve same goal by converting our agenda into one for the sake of cooperation and attainment of our pressing goals. As a president, the goal is to an ideal wherein there’s unity. Unity brings about successful development in an Administration
