TLDS SETS NEW DATE FOR JAW WAR

The timeline for this year’s Jaw War Inter-Faculty and Inter-Hall competition has been rescheduled by the University of Ibadan’s Literary and Debating Society.

The society’s president, Neyen Williams, released a statement on Friday informing the audience of this situation.

The annual public speaking competition will now begin on April 10 instead of the final week of this month as originally planned. The theme for this year is Disruptive Conversations: The African State in Perspective.

The President affirms although we understand that members of the University community, especially public speakers, are already in good spirits, this minor postponement became unavoidable due to the change in our academic schedule.

She continued by saying that the second iteration of the Jaw War Nationals would also take place during the competition’s Grand Finale this year.

The present administration is still devoted to the same goals as in 2021.

Just like in 2021, the current administration remains committed to organizing a Jaw War that not only lives up to expectations but also serves as a platform for the finest speakers across Nigerian Universities to debate topical issues.

“In the spirit of reawakening the lively atmosphere synonymous with the commencement of Jaw War, we have also decided that a Jaw War rally will hold on April 6.”

“Over the next few weeks, we will unveil the various initiatives lined up to make this year’s Jaw War one like never before,” the statement added.
