The third day of NAPSS week brought with it an eagerly anticipated event: movie night. Recognized for their scholarly pursuits, the students of Political Science also understand the wisdom behind the saying, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” Embracing this, they made sure to balance rigorous academic activities with social engagements, showcasing that the department is not just about studies but also about fostering a well-rounded experience.
The screening was set for 5pm in the PG room of the Social Science building, welcoming students from all levels within the department. This inclusivity meant that even freshmen were not left out, creating a vibrant atmosphere of unity and excitement.
Among the attendees was Olanrewaju Funmilayo, a second-year NAPSSITE, who shared her thoughts on the event. She highlighted how the movie, The Gray Man, served as a delightful escape from the stressors of daily life and the ongoing economic challenges. She described those two hours as a much-needed break, a time to unwind and momentarily forget the hardships that each day in the country brings. Funmilayo was emphatic about the positive impact of the movie night, stating that she would eagerly participate in future events of this nature.
The movie night concluded at 8pm, leaving behind a trail of happy memories and the promise of more engaging activities to come.
