Certainly, you must have noticed the campus being invaded in the previous week. Really? Yes by MTN, they were literally everywhere you go. The MTN Campus Invasion programme was a campaign & event brought to UI by MTN x Nigerian Brewery x Infinix x YouTube.  The campaign called Campus Invasion lasted for 5 days, that is from the 16th of October to the 20th of October.

Speaking from an enjoyable experience, the campaign was clearly built to make an Impact, bring pure vibes filled with fun and an avenue to meet your favour celebrities and influencers.

A quick observation, have you noticed most event occurring in UI has been suffering from poor publicity? What exactly is the problem? That’s a different topic for another day.

Here are details of the event:

Starting from the 16th to the 19th of October, was the Retail Village scheduled for at the SUB tennis court and car park, where students could be seen playing a variety of games, networking, activating their MTN pulse plan and having too much fun.  (raises eyebrows)  Well, an acquaintance recounted how she was unable to leave the venue due to the extent of fun she was having. Do you know what else is even the best? you’ll find it below.

Can you Imagine having a Filmhouse cinema experience without paying anything? Well, that’s the perfect picture of what occurred on Tuesday, 17th of October during the MTN Movie Night in conjunction with Filmhouse, which screened a Nigerian movie titled ‘Something like Gold. Apart from students being able to watch the movie freely, they were also treated to premium flavoured popcorn and a can of malt individually. Now wouldn’t you call that living la vida loca? Following, the next day was the MTN Pulse Series x YouTube – Made For You Masterclass. This masterclass was the highlight of the campaign, to some, as they were able to meet their favourite lifestyle influence and host – Tomike Adeoye, popularly known as Oloriebi and Enioluwa Adeoluwa popularly known as the lipgloss boy or Eni. In addition to this celebrity list was the most, probably the funniest comedian on Instagram – Layiwasabi. These 3 took sessions on lifestyle, music and comedy. Here, students in attendants were hosted to a chilled cup of Nescafe and atmosphere (for those who came under the hot sun), a buttery hot chicken pie and several gift items available to students.

The last two days featured the celebrity Invasion and 5G pulse experimental district.

The celebrity invasion was much anticipated by students who expected a mind-blowing experience as the previous programs, however, little was their imagination compared to what they experienced. Many were bewildered by their meeting with Small Doctor. Rather not to sound ungrateful, the experience was equally a highlight to some of his fans.

Then the last day featuring the 5G pulse experiential district ensured leaving a lasting memory in the hearts of students.

This is to say, MTN Campus Invasion really did go hard and left with our pulses migrating to them.

NB: In case you missed this again, don’t miss the Trace in the city occurring on the 27th of October.
