Political science department football team tied 0-0 with the department of Animal science in group F opening fixture of Seals Cup on Wednesday, July 31st, 2024.
The match kicked off at 1:16 PM on the old football pitch at SUB, from the opening whistle, the two sides engaged in a fierce and intense battle, each probing for vulnerabilities to gain a crucial advantage and shift the momentum of the game in their favour.
In the second half, POS intensified their efforts to assert dominance and swing the game in their favour. However, the midfield struggled to establish a link with the attacking line, who failed to find the back of the net.
Meanwhile, the defense faced some pressure from the opposition, who capitalised on mistimed passes and exploited weaknesses with a series of dangerous attacks. Despite their efforts, the opposing team also failed to convert their chances into a decisive goal, leaving the scoreline unchanged.
After 60 minutes of what was regarded as “unproductive” football by some members of the audience, the referee’s final whistle signalled the end of the contest, bringing a close to a goalless encounter.
