The University of Ibadan Students’ Union has clarified that the 13-week lecture period for the current semester is intentional and not a system error.
In a notice issued on 13 July 2026, the Union stated that lectures will run from Monday, 13 July to Friday, 9 October 2026, in accordance with the University’s approved academic calendar.
According to the Union, the extended lecture period is designed to provide adequate time for effective teaching, learning, and comprehensive coverage of course content to ensure a balanced academic session.
Students were encouraged to remain committed to their academic activities and make productive use of the extended lecture period.
