In an escalation of the ongoing dispute over tuition costs, the management of the University of Ibadan has issued a directive ordering all students to vacate the premises by 2 pm today, Saturday, August 31st, 2024, following refusal to comply with the fee hike.
Despite the protests and opposition from students, the school management remained resolute in its decision to implement the fee hike. In the circular released today, the university administration has given students a three-week deadline to pay their school fees and complete course registration.
In addition, the university has announced a three-week break, effective immediately, and has mandated that all students vacate the school premises and halls of residence during this period. Students have been ordered to leave the campus before 2 pm today.
Due to the three-week break, the First Semester examination will start on Monday, 23 September 2024 and the registration portal will be closed on Friday, 20 September 2024 without further extensions.
