Novus Extravaganza: NAPSS UI holds Freshers Hangout

Adhering to the tradition and custom of the association, the National Association of Political Science Students, University of Ibadan executive council on Saturday, 13th, July 2024 organised a hangout for the freshmen of the department. 

The event, held at the Pako Lounge in the Faculty of Social Sciences, was attended by freshmen and staylites of the association, creating an atmosphere for connection, networking and fun.

The program commenced in the late afternoon, with a member of the association anchoring the event and guiding the proceedings of the day. 

The program formally commenced with an orientation session for the freshmen, covering essential topics such as academic expectations, university regulations, and departmental requirements. Additionally, the Vice President, Miss Adeola, emphasized the importance of actively participating in the mentorship program, urging the students to approach it with utmost seriousness to achieve the desired positive outcomes.

Following the orientation, a meet-and-greet session was organized, allowing attendees to connect and get acquainted with one another. The event then transitioned into a picnic, featuring an array of engaging games and activities designed to bring excitement and relaxation to the students.

 To further delight the attendees, a spread of peppered ponmo and fruit punch drinks was served, adding to the atmosphere of the gathering. When asked about his experience, Akinsola Ayomide, a freshman, remarked that the event was fun with lots of games to play and enough refreshments for the attendees. 

Lastly, the presence of some members of the association was acknowledged and appreciated by the executive council, the Deputy President of the NAPSS senate, Miss. Olayinka Anne, The Managing Editor of POSSPRESS, Miss. Adekola Rihanat and some members of the association were warmly acknowledged and recognised.
