NAPSS Senate Elects New Caretakers

At the valedictory sitting which was held on Monday, April 29 2024, in room 022,  Faculty of the Social Sciences, the NAPSS legislature conducted an election to democratically select principal officers who would be at the helm of affairs for the 2023/2024 administration. 

After the conduct of normal parliamentary proceedings which include; approval of the dinner budget, deliberations on the report of the state of the association presented by the executive President and receiving stewardship reports from key executive members. The erstwhile Senate President, Mr Alimi Yusuf dissolved the Senate for the 2022/2023 session and inaugurated newly elected Senators into the senate. Elections of principal principal officers took place immediately after the inauguration. 

With all candidates contesting principal offices running unopposed, Sen. Fadesayo was elected as the clerk of the house, Sen. Slyvia was elected as the chief whip of the house, Sen. Anne as the deputy senate president while Sen. Noah emerged as the senate president. 

The newly elected principal officers were ushered into their new offices with congratulatory remarks and Sen. Noah adjourned the sitting till the next session in his capacity as senate president.
