Match day 3 of the HOD lived up to expectations, delivering excitement, drama, and moments of brilliance as teams battled for the championship
The Sophomores and Penultimates shared the Spoils in the first game of the day which saw the Sophomores and Penultimates lock horns in a highly competitive 1-1 draw. Bright gave the Sophomores the lead after converting a first-half penalty, displaying composure from the spot. The Penultimates, however, responded in style as DannyMiles produced a moment of magic, chipping the goalkeeper to bring his side level.
Despite both teams pushing for a late winner, the defenses held firm, ensuring the points were shared at the final whistle.
The title holders showed exactly why they are still the team to beat with a commanding performance in their fixture. Akon continued his red-hot form, opening the scoring with a well-taken goal before Elmer doubled the advantage, putting them firmly in control.
However, controversy struck late in the game when the referee awarded a debatable penalty to the freshmen. Jossie made no mistake, sending the keeper the wrong way to keep the game interesting. Despite the late twist, the champions held on for a deserved victory, once again proving their quality.
With match day 3 concluded, the stage is now set for a repeat of last session’s final. Will the reigning champions successfully defend their title, or will their challengers rise to the occasion and exact revenge?
