GANIYU OKE SALISU ASSUMES DUTY AS NEW REGISTRAR OF THE UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN

 


The University of Ibadan has officially welcomed its new Registrar, Mr. Ganiyu Oke Saliu, who assumed office on Tuesday, 11th April, 2023. Mr. Saliu was approved as the 13th Registrar of the University at a governing council meeting held on Thursday, 9th February, 2023.


Mr. Saliu’s career began as an Administrative Officer II in the Students’ Affairs Division of the Registry at the Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti in January 1995. He later joined the University of Ibadan in 2014 as a Deputy Registrar and was posted to the University’s School of Business. He served there until 2017 when he was redeployed to head the Registry’s Establishments (Academic Staff Matters) Division. In November 2020, he left the University of Ibadan to serve as the Registrar of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, Ondo State.


According to the University’s website, Mr. Saliu was born on 29th September 1967 in Oka-Akoko, Ondo State. He attended St. John’s Primary School, Oka-Akoko between 1973 and 1977, St. John/Mary’s Demonstration Primary School, Owo, Ondo State between 1977 and 1979, and Victory College, Ikare-Akoko, Ondo State between 1979 and 1986. He later gained admission to Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti in 1987, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language.


Mr. Saliu’s appointment as the new Registrar of the University of Ibadan has been met with excitement and anticipation from the academic community. His wealth of experience in the field of administration is expected to bring about positive changes in the University’s administrative processes
