FATSSSA CELEBRATES OUTSTANDING PERSONNEL WIHTIN THE FACULTY

On Monday, May 8th, 2023, the Faculty of the  Social Sciences Students’ Association  (FATSSSA) held an event at the Large Lecture Theatre (LLT) to celebrate seven outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions in various fields within and beyond the university. The event, which was part of the faculty’s Diamond Jubilee celebration, themed “Inspiring Excellence From Within” and aimed to recognize and celebrate excellence among students from different departments in the faculty.


The students were celebrated in different categories, including Mallam F.K. Sanni for Academics, Shallom Akpokodje for Entrepreneurship, Beatrice Mokwunye for Social Impact, Oluwakayode Ijimakinwa for Sports, Idoko Adoyi for Leadership, Taiwo Olurotimi Jesujoba for Entertainment, and Zainab Oluotanmi for Politics.


During the event, Mallam F.K. Sanni, one of the awardees, spoke about what inspired him in his journey of academic excellence. “The challenges are multidimensional, but you have to keep them at bay to stay afloat,” he said, addressing the audience. The event also featured a panel session comprising some of the student awardees, including Mallam F.K. Sanni, Shallom Akpokodje, Beatrice Mokwunye, and Taiwo Jesujoba.


The event had a remarkable attendance, and it provided an opportunity for the faculty to celebrate excellence and inspire students to aim for greatness in their respective fields.
