Meet Mr Victor Johnson, one of the two candidates vying for the post of NAPSS’s President. Mr Johnson Victor Oluwatobi is a 300level student of the Department of Political Science, University of Ibadan.
Interviewer: Good afternoon Mr Sir, I am Abideen by name, a correspondent of POSPRESS, may I meet you?
Baba nla: I am Johnson Victor Oluwatobi, politically baptized as Baba Nla, I am a 300l student of the department of Political Science
Bab nla: Good afternoon Sir
Interviewer: Nice to meet you
Baba nla: My pleasure
Interviewer: I would be asking you a few questions regarding your political aspiration in the department
Interviewer: On the 25th of May, 2023, you pushed an awareness declaring your intention to run for the position of NAPSS’s president, am I right Mr Victor?
Baba nla: Yes sir, on 25th of May i declared my intention to serve NAPSSites as the President of the association.
Interviewer: Alright, May I ask you what informed your decision to make such declaration
Baba nla: I will say that, the declaration itself is not the preeminent thing because my decision to serve NAPSS preceded the declaration.
I made the decision due to my concern about the state of our dear association and the self consciousness that I have more quota to contribute to making the association greater by focussing on improving the members of the association.
Interviewer : Alright, but it took you time to make such aspiration known. May I know how long you’ve been nursing this ambition
Baba nla: I would like to say that I have been nursing the aspiration for a very long time.
Initially at the beginning of this semester, I called people in my close circle and informed them about my ambition, and they all showed their support, but I know that leadership is not something you rush into, so I continued with my consultation and that is why the declaration came late.
Interviewer: Alright. I took something from this

Baba nla: Okay.
Interviewer: So, what leadership experience do you possess?
Baba nla: When it comes to Leadership experience, the fact is that I am still learning, but I have been able to up my leadership skills with various organizations that I belong to.
I am a leader always in training at The Fort Institute.
So inside UI, without mentioning the outside the Campus own and religious body own, I have been able to serve as

Although I am still learning and will keep learning.
Interviewer: Alright. With this, should we say you have what it takes to emerge as the NAPSS’s president?
Baba nla: NAPSSITES will decide that, but i believe that my quality of leadership is suitable for NAPSS Administration.
Interviewer: Alright Mr Victor
Interviewer: What do you have to say about the outgoing administration?
Baba nla: Okay, the outgoing administration has been putting in efforts to serve NAPSSITES, although there might be some challenges, but i give kudos to them for how they manage situations effectively and serve the association to the best of their capacity.
Interviewer: Should we say the executive council performed excellently?
Baba nla: Excellent is a big word.
I will say to the best of the best of their capacity, since there are still rooms for improvements.
Interviewer: Alright, so you mean no one is perfect?
Baba nla: Perfect is a relative word, but I believe that we should keep chasing perfection, if at a point, we believe that we are perfect, that is a sign of imperfection
Interviewer: Alright, Mr Victor. After you’ve made the consultations and from your observation, what challenges do you think are facing NAPSSites?
Baba nla: Okay, so I found out about some challenges including, maintaining a cordial relationship and communication between all levels, issues when it comes to funding, issues when it comes to personal development of members, issues when it comes to relationship between the various organs and others
Interviewer: Great. So how do you plan to tackle the challenges?
Baba nla: I actually have a mapped out plan to tackle all the challenges, part of it is creating a Stakeholder Forum, creating a strong feedback loop, and when it comes to issues that relate to academics and after school life, I have plans for them too.
Interviewer: But you stated issues with funds as part of the challenges, how do you tackle this as well?
Baba nla: There is a strategic plan in place for that too, and it is simply in three tiers, Alumni Forum, Corporate Sponsorship and Partnership
Interviewer: Good to hear this Mr Victor
Interviewer: There is this rumor that NAPSSites are not united, did you perceive this too?
Baba nla: Let see it like this, the fact that there is a rumor like that means there is an iota of truth in it, but rumors are always a tangled mess of truth and falsehood.
What I see is a NAPSS that has a very great potential to be more united and that is part of what my administration will address too, by ensuring that there is a stable medium that brings NAPSSITES together as one the rumor would disappear totally.
Interviewer: Alright Mr Victor. As we talk now, there just two candidates for NAPSS presidency, you and Mr Boniface. What makes you think you will win this election?
Baba nla: Okay, I believe that NAPSSITES decide who they want to serve them, and I believe that NAPSSITES are intellectuals that will make the right choice because I bring a unique set of qualities, effectiveness and proven record of leadership, so i trust in the judgement of NAPSSITES to make the best choice.
