UI Political Science Department to Host Femi Adesina at Media–State Dialogue Series

Former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Femi Adesina, will tomorrow engage students of the University of Ibadan at the Department of Political Science’s Media–State Dialogue Series.

The special engagement, organised for students of POS 353, “The Media and the State,” will hold at the Large Lecture Theatre (LLT), Faculty of The Social Sciences, by 11:00 a.m. Though primarily designed for POS 353 students, other interested students are also expected to attend.

The event, themed “From Newsroom to Aso Rock: Inside Media–State Relations in Nigeria,” will examine the relationship between journalism, governance, political communication, and the role of the media in shaping public narratives in Nigeria.

Mr Adesina, a veteran journalist and former presidential spokesperson, is expected to share insights from his experiences in both the newsroom and the corridors of power, while interacting directly with students during the session.

The programme is facilitated by Dr Kingsley Ogunne, lecturer in charge of the course POS 354 “The Media and the State” .

The Head of the Department of Political Science, Prof. Dhikru A. Yagboyaju, will host the programme, while the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof. Kayode O. Adebowale, serves as Chief Host.
