The 74th convocation of the University of Ibadan held at the International Conference Center, began on Monday, the 14th Monday and is set to run till Thursday, 17th November, 022.
The convocation lecture, themed “Region, Security, Counter-terrorism and Counter-Insurgency in the Lake Chad Basin: The role of the multi-national joint task force, was delivered by General I.M Yusuf, a commandant at Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna.
On Monday, 14th November, 2022, the convocation ceremony was held for first degree graduates from the Faculties of Arts, Science, Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, The Social Sciences, Law, Public Health and Dentistry. On Tuesday, 15th November, 2022, the ceremony would be held for first degrees in the Faculties of Agriculture, Education, Veterinary Medicine, Technology, Pharmacy and Renewable Natural Resources. While on Wednesday, 16th November, 2022, would be for the Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) students.
Ogbeide Osarennoma Angela emerges as the Overall best graduating student in the faculty of the social sciences, the immediate past president of the faculty association, Josiah Obong Josiah is the best graduating student of the Political Science Department.
The University will graduate 4926 first degree students out of which 229 bagged First Class degree.
