The University of Ibadan Students’ Union (UISU) has released an official update clarifying the accommodation application process for the 2025/2026 academic session. This follows concerns raised by students after a notice from the Office of the Dean of Students on accommodation requirements.
In response, the Students’ Union leadership held a stakeholders’ meeting with key university authorities, including the Dean of Students, Deputy Dean of Students, hall chairpersons, faculty presidents, and other relevant stakeholders. The meeting focused on addressing student concerns and ensuring a fair, transparent accommodation process.

JAJA Card Upload Now Optional. Students are no longer required to upload an image of their JAJA card during the accommodation application process. The Students’ Union clarified that students who are off campus or do not currently have access to their JAJA ID cards can still apply, provided they supply their JAJA registration numbers, which remain mandatory for all applicants.

UHS Requisite Form Applies to Returning Students Only. The UHS Requisite Form is not required for fresh students. It applies strictly to returning students.
Official Accommodation Application Timeline
According to the Students’ Union, the accommodation process will commence with the submission of JAJA registration numbers between February 9 and 11, with card upload remaining optional for all students. This will be followed by the accommodation application and payment window for fresh students, scheduled to run from February 12 to 19.
Returning students will have a slightly later application period, with accommodation applications and payments opening from February 13 and closing on February 20. Room allocation for fresh students and final-year students is slated for February 21, while other returning students are expected to receive their room allocations on February 26.
The Students’ Union also reassures students that their welfare remains its primary mandate. Students are encouraged to carefully follow the outlined guidelines and stay updated through official channels.
