It happens that 4.0 is the one chasing me. This is a statement made by Gloria T. Popoola, a 300-level student with a perfect CGPA, during the NAPSS freshers orientation on the 24th of September. NAPSS’ president, Mr. Victor Johnson asked a rhetorical question after Miss Gloria T. Popoola made the statement. She was asked to give the freshers words of encouragement, and finished her assertion that “4.0 is the one chasing me.”
She portrayed earlier that everything just seems to be working out for her. “I am doing everything to be okay academically but it just happened that I am having a perfect point.” Her word of encouragement for the freshers is that facing their academics is their primary purpose in the university vicinity. “After academics other things can come,” she said when giving her word of encouragement.
After saying more words to encourage the freshers during the orientation making their academic excellence their priority is vital. She ended it with the statement “4.0 is the one chasing me I am not chasing it.” After the statement, the NAPSS’s President asked this everyone this question what is chasing you? The question is not only academically but just about finding one’s way about one’s purpose in life. A man without a vision is a man without a future and a man without a future will return to the past. In life, you are chased by your past or future. It’s time for every one of us to move heaven and earth to pursue our purpose in life and know what is chasing us.
