The National Association of Political Science Students, University of Ibadan (NAPSS-UI), commences its 2026 NAPSS Week today with a seven-day programme designed to bring NAPSSITES together through conversations on scholarships, politics, leadership, business and civic participation.
Themed “Ìtèsíwájú: From Potential to Possibilities,” the programme, which kicks off today, Monday, September 28, 2026, will run through Sunday, October 4, 2026. The week will feature a collection of academic, political, social and professional activities.
According to the official information released by the association, NAPSS Week kicks off with a Scholarship Seminar on Monday at 12:00 p.m. at PG Room 154. The programme facilitator, Prof. Remi Aiyede, will be joined by Prof. Idowu Johnson and Abdulrahman Adebayo to provide NAPSSITES with an opportunity to learn about scholarship opportunities and avenues for educational support.
The activities will continue on Tuesday with the Youth in Politics Symposium, which is expected to focus attention on the place of young people in political participation and leadership.
On Wednesday, NAPSSITES will have a combination of intellectual and entertainment activities, including the joint POSSPRESS Billy Dudley Symposium 6.0 and the Literary and Debating Society Speech Craft 6.0. A movie night afterwards will wrap up the activities for the day.
The programme will then move into civic engagement on Thursday, October 1st, with a Sensitization Campaign and Awareness Walk.
Friday will be dedicated to the legislative arm, which will host its Legislative Summit.
Saturday will feature a Leadership and Business Conference, bringing together discussions on leadership development and business opportunities.
On Sunday, NAPSS Week will conclude with the annual Cultural Night, which will provide an opportunity for NAPSSITES to connect with indigenous African heritage and celebrate its rich culture.
For participating NAPSSITES, the seven-day programme, organised by the NAPSS Executive Council and other organs, offers a mixture of learning, discussion, civic engagement and entertainment, while providing a platform beyond its regular academic and organisational activities.
