The NAPSS Legislative House has approved a 45%, 20%, 20%, 15% formula for sharing ₦634,200 among the association’s organs and programmes for NAPSS Week, at an emergency sitting held on Tuesday, September 15.

The sitting followed the presentation of the State of the Association report to the House by NAPSS President, Oladigbo Victor Inioluwa. After deliberations among Senators representing the four constituencies, the House adopted the four-part formula to ensure that the Executive Council, the Senate House, the L&D, the Press and student oriented programmes all receive appropriate financial support.

According to the report, 302 NAPSSites had paid their basic dues of ₦4,000 each at the time of writing, amounting to ₦1,208,000. The President also said the proposed package for students who have fulfilled their dues obligations is projected at ₦1,900 per participating student, which represents ₦573,800 for the 302 paid-up NAPSSites. The balance of ₦634,200 is the sum the House shared.

Under the approved arrangement, 45%, amounting to ₦285,390, goes to the Executive Council. The Senate House receives 20%, or ₦126,840. The same percentage, ₦126,840, goes to L&D and the Press event. The remaining 15%, or ₦95,130, goes to SOS.

The approved formula is expected to guide the disbursement of the funds by the respective organs, subject to the association’s established financial procedures and oversight mechanisms.
