The National Association of Political Science Students (NAPSS), University of Ibadan under the leadership of Inioluwa Oladgbo, has announced the commencement of the second edition of the Prof Aituaje Irene Pogoson Memorial Fresher Essays Writing Competition.
Following the recent decision to rename the essay competition in honour of the late Prof. Aituaje Irene Pogoson, the association stated that the initiative is aimed at preserving her legacy and recognising her contributions to the Department of Political Science and the academic community at large.
The essay competition titled, “Envisioning the Future: The Nigeria I Hope to Build.” is open to all freshers in the Department of Political Science.
According to the competition guidelines, participants are required to submit essays of 800 words with appropriate academic references. Submissions must be typed in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing, and entries are to be sent to the official NAPSS email. The association also noted that AI-assisted entries will be flagged and automatically disqualified.
The deadline for submission has been fixed for March 20, while the top three entries will be announced during the Freshers’ Orientation Day.
